A video showing several men placing a machine gun on a drone in Ukraine has gone viral on social media.

The faces of the men in the video are not clearly visible, but they are believed to be members of the Ukrainian military.

The video was posted Tuesday by Twitter user Roman Kyryliuk, who is a volunteer software engineer in the Ukrainian military, according to his Twitter bio.

Since its release, the video has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

The use of drones in the nearly eight-month war has become more widespread for both Ukrainian and Russian forces.

Earlier this week, Ukraine’s capital, Kiev, was hit by Russian “kamikaze drones,” also known as Iranian Shahed drones, officials said.

Andriy Yermak, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff, confirmed the attack in a statement and called for “more air defense systems as soon as possible”.

He said: “We need more weapons to protect the sky and destroy the enemy.”
