Ukraine earns nearly $20 million from the sale of electricity

Ukraine earns nearly $20 million from the sale of electricity.

Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the head of the state-owned electricity grid operator Ukrenergo, has announced that Ukraine earns nearly 20 million dollars by selling electricity to the EU.

He even emphasized that these numbers are expected to increase significantly in the coming months.

Ukraine started exporting electricity to the EU through Romania on July 1.

And this move came at a time when the EU is trying to get away from Russian oil and gas, as a result of the war started in Ukraine.

“Today, the income from exports that we had with a capacity of 100 MW, in the first month brought us more than 700 million hryvnias, as an energy system operator, for access to interstate energy networks,” added Kudrytskyi.

“It is clear that with the increase in the volume of allowed export, this figure can increase significantly”, said the head of the electric grid operator Ukrenergo in the end.
