At least 155 people were injured as a result of the collision of two trains on the outskirts of Barcelona.

The crash happened around 7:50 a.m., near the train station in the northeast of the Catalunya region.

Local media reports that the trains were traveling in the same direction, and at one point collided, injuring hundreds of passengers.

On the other hand, the police in Catalonia announced that they are investigating the causes that may have led to this railway accident.

“We are talking about bruises and head injuries, nothing serious,” said an official of the company that manages the railways in this country.

According to fire crews who rushed to the scene, the collision occurred when a moving train collided with another train that had apparently stopped to pick up passengers at the station.
