TUI plane catches fire at Manchester Airport.

A TUI passenger plane catches fire at Manchester Airport after landing from a flight to Mahon, Spain.

The crews who mobilized to the scene saw that one of the plane’s engines had caught fire, when they saw smoke coming out of it.

Shocked holidaymakers watched from the departure lounges of Terminal 2 as firefighters battled the blaze.

The relevant authorities were seen extinguishing the burning engine with water, which is said to have suffered a “technical failure on arrival” and was reported to have overheated.

However, all passengers on this plane had disembarked and the safety of the crew was not at risk, TUI said.

“I was waiting to leave and saw several fire trucks and other emergency vehicles go by,” one traveler wrote on Twitter.

“They told us on our flight that there was an incident with a flight that had landed,” he added.

The authorities managed to extinguish the fire.
