There are injured and dead in the steel factory.

After Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the total blockade of the Azovstal steel plant, inside which are the last defenders of Mariupol, underground in the factory complex where more than 2 thousand Ukrainian soldiers and civilians remain.

One of them spoke about the situation in this Ukrainian city. Svyatoslav Palamar, who is considered one of the last defenders of the Ukrainian city. He is part of the Azov Battalion. He acknowledged that they had previously thwarted any attack by Russian forces, but that the area had recently become a hotbed of ongoing attacks by Kremlin soldiers.

Palamar claims that the factory inside which they are hiding is surrounded and destroyed on the surface of the earth, while civilians have remained trapped under the rubble. “I always say that while we are here, Mariupol remains under the control of Ukraine,” he said.

“All the buildings in the vicinity of Azovstal have been destroyed. They are dropping large bombs, bombs to destroy bunkers that cause enormous damage. In the bunkers we have wounded and dead. “Some civilians are trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings.”

Asked how many Ukrainian defenders remained in Mariupol, Palamar responded by saying briefly “enough to respond to Russian attacks the civilian”.

The Ukrainian soldier has appealed for civilians to be allowed to cross the factory safely, and has called on third countries or the international community to guarantee their safety.
