The unplanned visit to Japan of the US Secretary of State.

The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, will travel to Tokyo for an unscheduled visit to express condolences to the Japanese people after the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, according to a State Department statement.

It has also been emphasized that Blinken will meet with high-ranking Japanese officials.

Blinken is currently in Bangkok on a tour of Asia after attending a meeting of foreign ministers at the G20 Summit.

“US-Japan relations are good foundations of stability in the Indo-Pacific region, and relations have never been better than now,” the statement said, among other things.

We remind you that former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was wounded by a man with a homemade weapon, and as a result of his injuries, he died in the hospital – despite the efforts of doctors to save him.
