The Russian teams in CS: GO have to change names.

The players of the CS: GO team, Gambit will compete in the 15th season of the ESL Pro League with a neutral name, following the ESL decision not to allow teams affiliated with the Russian government in their organization.

The Gambit team has released a statement on Twitter, revealing that they will not prevent their players from participating in the ESL Pro League with a neutral name

The announcement comes after ESL banned organizations linked to the Russian government from representing themselves in the upcoming ESL Pro League season, identifying Virtus.pro and Gambit as the two affected teams.

The same decision was made by the VirtusPro team who a few days ago announced that their players will compete in the ESL Pro League under the new name “Outsiders”.

It has not yet been revealed what name the team will use with the Russian players, while the first match within the ESL Pro League will take place on March 23 against the Party Astronauts team starting at 12:30.
