The capture of Lyman City shows progress

The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has said that the capture of the city of Lyman by Ukraine shows the progress of the army.

Jens Stoltenberg said this shows they are making progress and are able to repel Russian forces.

Earlier today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the eastern city had been “completely cleared” of Russian forces, a day after the Kremlin announced the withdrawal of troops after it was surrounded.

Stoltenberg also described Vladimir Putin’s nuclear rhetoric as “dangerous” and “reckless”, after the Russian president made remarks accusing the West of engaging in “nuclear blackmail”.

Regarding Ukraine’s request to join NATO, Stoltenberg said that any decision on Ukraine’s membership must be approved by all NATO allies.
