Tesla’s next car will be smaller and significantly cheaper

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed details of the upcoming car model, which will be the third overall behind the large one used by the Model S and X and the compact one on which the Model 3 and Y.

Musk said the new model will be smaller compared to the Model 3 and Y model and will come in at roughly half its price. However, he did not say when the new model will arrive, but that it is the team’s primary focus for developing new vehicles.

He noted that production of Tesla’s next car will eclipse the numbers of the Model 3 and Model X, which accounted for up to 95 percent of total shipments in the third quarter of 2022. In his statement, he went a step further. further saying that the new model will exceed the production of all other Tesla cars combined.

Producing two copies of the new car will cost Tesla as much as producing a single Model 3.

However, despite the cheaper platform, this does not necessarily mean that the new car will be twice as cheap as the Model 3, but the price will definitely be significantly lower.

It’s hard to say when the new model will hit the market, but it won’t happen until Tesla is in full production of the Cybertruck and Campion Semi. Therefore, this car should not be expected before 2024, unless the Tesla factory in China gets the “green light” to bring the model to the market earlier.
