A superyacht about 50 meters long, called “007” has sunk a few meters away from a Greek beach.

The ship, which is believed to be owned by a Swiss businessman but was sailing under a British flag, went down after hitting rocks just 15 meters from the picturesque Kolona Bay on the island of Kythnos.

The boat’s GPS allegedly malfunctioned and steered the boat toward shore.

Coastguards responded to calls and the five passengers on board were quickly rescued after it began to sink on Friday evening.

By Saturday, the yacht was almost completely submerged. The yacht can accommodate up to 10 passengers and five crew members on board.

An investigation into the sinking is ongoing by the Coast Guard. It is said to be the third largest yacht built by Aegean and was last sold in 2012
