SpaceX will not produce new Dragon Crew capsules.

SpaceX will no longer produce new Dragon Crew capsules, the spacecraft that transports astronauts to and from the International Space Station, and will instead focus on reusing the already existing four-fleet.

According to media reports, SpaceX is planning to continue production of Dragon Crew components for refurbishment and will be able to produce more astronaut capsules if needed, said SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell.

The Dragon Crew is the first spacecraft with the SpaceX crew, borrowing its design from the Dragon cargo capsule used for ISS supply services.

Dragon Crew capsules have led humans into space on five separate missions since its 2020 debut, including Inspiration4, a private crew mission funded by billionaire Jared Isaacman.
