Samsung’s new gaming monitor

Monitor

Samsung has introduced a new gaming monitor from its range. It’s a monitor called the Odyssey Ark, and it comes with some impressive features.

The Odyssey Ark is a 55-inch 4K monitor with a curvature of 1000R. The screen resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels, and the aspect ratio is 16:9. The panel uses Quantum Mini LEDs for local dimming (1056 zones) combined with 14-bit processing. It supports “Quantum HDR 2022”, which means a maximum brightness of 2000 nits. The monitor comes with a matte finish to reduce glare and reflections.

The screen refresh rate is 165 Hz with support for FreeSync Premium Pro. If you’re playing older titles, the Neural Quantum Processor Ultra can upscale them to 4K resolution.

The stand, which comes in the box with the monitor, allows height and tilt adjustment, and has three wall mounting options (200×200, 300×300 and 400×400). There’s a fascinating cockpit mode, which allows you to rotate the screen 90 degrees so that the bottom of the screen is mostly vertical, while the rest of the screen hangs up.

The monitor can be used for an unlimited multi-monitor setup (it has four HDMI inputs), and if you rotate it to booth mode, you can have a vertical array of three virtual monitors.

Samsung Odyssey Ark has an impressive built-in sound system – it has four speakers (one in each corner) plus two subwoofers at the bottom for a total power of 60 W and a frequency response of up to 45 Hz.

The monitor has several advanced features, which can be controlled using the included Ark Dial remote control, which is powered by solar energy.

It also has some useful features for gaming, such as Game Bar and Samsung Gaming Hub. The monitor is powered by Tizen, and also has support for Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings.

The price of the Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor is $3,500.
