Russian state television admits the war is “exhausting Russia”

Ukraine

A Russian television presenter has admitted that the war in Ukraine “exhausts” Russia in “every way”.

Even, according to her, many Russians want an end to hostilities.

A short video of Kremlin propagandist Olga Skabeyeva’s comments was shared on Twitter by Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, on Tuesday.

“We are all adults and we know very well that the war impoverishes the Russian state in every way,” Skabeyeva is quoted as saying.

“At the same time, we, being adequate and normal people, are certainly not able to rejoice in the war and each of us, I am convinced, would like to see an end to hostilities.”
