Russia is recruiting Syrian soldiers.

The Pentagon has announced that Russia is trying to recruit soldiers from Syria to fight in Ukraine.

Senior officials of the US Department of Defense have said that the number of Syrians that Vladimir Putin intends to recruit is unclear but he needs the support of foreign soldiers in this fight.

Russia’s efforts to recruit foreign soldiers were initially reported by a Syrian portal, which said that Moscow tried to find volunteers through them that will act as guardians on six-month contracts, where for a month they will receive somewhere between $200 to $300.

There have been similar reports about Russian mercenaries from Wagner, who had equipped the Syrians who served in the Libyan war on the side of General Khalif Haftar, who is now said to have been transferred to Ukraine.
