Russia claims to have recruited 16,000 people.

Syrian soldiers were offered up to 5,000 pounds (about 5,900 euros) a month to fight on the front line for Russia in Ukraine, foreign media had previously reported.

And now reports say that Russia has registered about 16,000 recruits from the Middle East, with social media in Syria flooded with demands for people to join Russian troops.

A recruiter said: “Recruitment in Ukraine is just like we recruited in Libya; there are representatives in the regions ”.

“You have the right to change your decision after you apply. “No one will force you to go.”

According to the British media, Syria’s economy, already devastated by the civil war, is now facing a rise in the price of essentials such as wheat – making Russia’s offer seem “even more tempting”.

Russia has supported the Syrian regime during the country’s civil war, and Russian state media claim that “Syrian soldiers want to return what was done to them.”
