Russia and Ukraine exchange prisoners of war.

Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war, officials in Kyiv and Moscow confirmed today.

Ukrainian authorities have claimed that this is the first exchange of troops since Moscow ordered the army to enter Ukraine a month ago.

“In exchange for the ten captured invaders, we rescued ten of our soldiers,” said Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk.

Russia’s foreign ministry said earlier this week that Moscow had completed two prisoner swaps since it launched its invasion of Ukraine late last month.

We note that Ukrainian officials have announced today that so far they have killed over 14 thousand Russian military personnel.

Moskalkova said nine Russian prisoners were exchanged for the mayor of Melitopol, a city in southeastern Ukraine captured by the Russian army.

Otherwise, Russia has continued today with bombings causing casualties and material damage.
