Play Station 5 now supports 1440p resolution

After months of beta testing, the PlayStation 5 has officially received an update that brings a number of improvements and features.

PS5 console users thus have the ability to create folder-like playlists, there are improved social functions and more. However, the best feature is definitely the support for 1440p resolution.

The full list of changes includes:

Support for HDMI 1440p video output.

Within the Games Library it is possible to create lists of games, with easy organization.

It is possible to request Share Screen from teammates.

It is now possible to easily view a new player’s profile.

Receive notifications that help you join your friend’s game quickly from a shared chat.

You can compare 3D sound and stereo sound on the same screen.

Easy access to ongoing activities from game centers.

Anytime you’re on PlayStation, you can say “Hey PlayStation, find [key] on YouTube” and the YouTube app will open and display the relevant search results.

Sony has also added a number of updates and improvements to the companion PS app for phones.

This includes starting a PS Remote Play session from the PS app on Android and iOS devices, as well as requesting a Share Screen session from a friend.
