Opel will switch fully to electric cars by 2028.

The company says their ultimate goal is to provide electric vehicles that perfectly meet all customers’ needs – in the future, this will include autonomous driving for miles.

Opel will become an exclusively electric brand by 2028, at which time the carmaker from Russelsheim will switch all models to pure electric cars.

This brand already offers a large selection of models with electric motors. Customers can currently order twelve electrified variants – from the Opel Rocks minivan to the large Movano carrier.

“Opel is constantly moving towards full electrification – in record time. We are making a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and we have no plans to stop transforming our product offering: we will be producing our own high-performance batteries in Kaiserslautern by 2025.”

“In collaboration with our partners. We are also building a new ecological campus at our headquarters in Rüsselsheim” explained the brand strategy of Uwe Hochgeschurz, CEO of the brand.

Opel says its ultimate goal is to provide electric vehicles that will include even faster charging.
