Odessa Airport was hit by a rocket attack

Odessa Airport was hit by a rocket attack.

Three loud explosions were heard throughout Odessa this late afternoon, coming from the southwest of the city.

Images on social networks show the smoke rising on the horizon.

Shortly afterwards, the head of the press center for the southern defense forces said that the runway of Odessa airport had been damaged as a result of the rocket attack and its further use was impossible.

Ukrainian airspace has been closed to commercial flights since February 24.

Otherwise, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has entered its 66th day, since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched what he called a “special military operation.”

Ukraine says about 23,000 Russian soldiers have been killed so far.
