New products introduced by Apple.

The next generation of Apple Silicon chips has arrived with the announcement of the company’s new M1 Ultra SoC system (system on a chip), the latest entry in Apple’s M1 chip line that is even more powerful than the M1, M1 Pro chips and M1 Max.

The key to the M1 Ultra is Apple’s UltraFusion architecture. Apple is putting together two separate M1 Max chips in a single, massive SoC, thanks to the 2.5 TB / s interconnection connection that the M1 Max offers.

Apple is making some big performance claims for the massive new chip: Apple says it offers better CPU performance than a “16-core desktop PC” while using 100 W less power.

Apple also announced an iPad Air update a year and a half after giving the tablet a iPad Pro-style redesign.

Much of this redesign is still intact, but the new iPad Air model has been updated with a faster M1 processor, first seen on Apple’s Mac. It also supports 5G, and the USB-C port is up to twice as fast with 10 Gbps of data transfer speed.

Apple has introduced Mac Studio, a desktop system that looks like a Mac Mini on the outside but has a lot more power on the inside. Mac Studio features both Apple’s M1 Max chip and a new, even more powerful processor, the M1 Ultra. Apple claims that the new device will be faster than even the Mac Pro.

The desktop includes four Thunderbolt 4 ports on the back, as well as a 10 Gb Ethernet port, two USB-A ports, an HDMI and an audio port. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.

Apple claims that the Mac Studio with M1 Max will perform 50 percent faster than a Mac Pro with a 16-core Xeon and 2.5 times faster than a 27-inch iMac with a 10-core Core i9.
