Russian news agencies continue to mention the word “nuclear,” and in fact, the Russian military on Wednesday launched a series of maneuvers simulating a massive atomic attack on an adversary.

President Vladimir Putin watched the exercise ‘live’ on large screens located in his office. He repeated the accusations against Ukraine’s efforts to produce a bomb with radioactive effects.

Both Kiev and NATO reject the accusations, describing them as baseless and as a pretext from Moscow to escalate the conflict after the losses in the east and south of Ukraine.

During the military exercises, ballistic and “Cruise” missiles were fired, while submarines and warplanes were also involved.

According to Washington, Russia has so far acted in accordance with the arms control agreement and has reported conducting exercises of its nuclear capabilities.

However, the Russian exercises are seen as a contrast to the annual NATO exercises in north-west Europe, which will end on October 30.
