There are no particular signs that Russia wants peace, says the Italian Prime Minister.

There are no particular signs that Russia wants to achieve peace in Ukraine, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said at a press conference.

She said she will continue international support for Ukraine.

“Continuing to support Ukraine is the best way to end the war. I hope that sooner or later Russia will understand the big mistake it is making – until then, we will protect Ukraine”, declared the head of the Italian government.

Meloni added that maintaining unwavering support for Ukraine was a key prerequisite for maintaining a balance of power on the battlefield and creating conditions for peace.

Meloni said he intends to visit Kiev before the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion, which began on February 24, 2023.
