Massacre in Mexico: Six killed in a rehabilitation center.

A gunman shot and killed five men and a woman at a private rehabilitation center in western Mexico, local authorities said.

The prosecutor’s office in the western state of Jalisco said the attack happened in the neighborhood of Tlakepaque, a suburb of Guadalajara, AP reported.

Jalisco is home to the drug cartel of the same name, and the state has seen shootouts and murders between rival factions of the Guadalajara cartel for years.

Several people participated in the attack, but the prosecution did not provide more information, nor is the motive of this crime known.

Drug cartels have attacked rehab centers before, mostly to kill drug users or dealers linked to rival gangs. Two years ago, in the state of Guanajuato, an attacker killed 27 people in a rehabilitation center.
