Macron, Scholz and Putin hold a telephone conversation.

French President Emmanuel Macron, during a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, called for an immediate ceasefire.

France and Germany urged Russia’s Vladimir Putin to end the deadly long siege of the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol.

French President Emmanuel Macron’s office also accused Putin of “lies” for alleging that Ukrainian forces had committed human rights abuses by using civilians as human shields.

The German government spokesman was quoted as saying that a 75-minute telephone conversation took place between Putin, Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

During the telephone conversation, Putin informed Macron and Scholz about the situation and relations between Russia and Ukraine.

On the other hand today Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the Ukrainian army has caused great losses to the Russian army.
