Kuleba: Russian forces are putting the entire continent at risk

Power plant

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, Dmytro Kuleba, has stated that Russian forces are putting “the entire continent at risk” by using the largest nuclear power plant in Europe as a military base.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has recently been bombed several times, while Ukraine and Russia are accusing each other of these attacks.

The fear of increasing the intensity of the fighting may lead to the leakage of radioactive materials.

“For decades, nuclear safety remains a top priority for Ukraine, especially when you consider this country’s past,” Kuleba said, referring to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.

“The Russian invaders have turned the Zaporizhzhia plant into a military base, putting the entire continent at risk. The Russian army must leave the plant – they have nothing to do there,” added Kuleba.

And while this facility remains occupied by Russia, Ukrainian employees continue to work inside it. This morning the Ukrainians claimed that a Russian missile hit near the plant – along the Dnieper River.
