A growing population of kangaroos has been noticed in the Australian town of Marum in the state of Queensland.

It is said that in the last 12 months, the local Department of Environment and Science has received seven reports of 220 residents being attacked. After the latest attack, a 67-year-old woman is recovering in hospital with a broken leg.

Wildlife operations manager Frank Mills said the situation in Marum was unusual compared to other communities that had problems with kangaroos.”Although there are many attacks by kangaroos in Queensland, they are mainly by males and usually related to fighting over territories or mating,” he said.
