It makes no sense to hold negotiations.

Ukraine on Saturday rejected a call by French President Emmanuel Macron not to “humiliate” Russia for the sake of diplomacy and said there would be no effect of negotiations until Moscow forces were pushed back as far as possible.

According to foreign media, Macron, who has continued dialogue with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin since the February 24 invasion of Russia, offered to mediate in the war on Friday and warned against humiliating Moscow in order to keep the door open for a diplomatic solution.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba dismissed Macron’s statement on Twitter, saying such calls “can only humiliate France and any other country that demands it.”

“Because it is Russia that humiliates itself. We all better focus on how to put Russia in its place. “It will bring peace and save lives,” he said.

Asked about the offer of mediation on national television, Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said: “as much as possible on the borders of Ukraine, it makes no sense to negotiate.”

Ukraine, which says Russia has already occupied about 20 percent of its territory, is now getting more powerful weapons from the West.
