The four-time world champion in football, Germany, has been eliminated from the group stage of ‘Qatar 2022’ despite a convincing victory (4-2) over Costa Rica in the last round.

A good pass from David Raum was used by Serge Gnabry to unlock the score and this was the only goal of the first half.

In the second half, Costa Rica overturned everything with the goals of Yeltsin Tejeda (58′) and Juan Pablo Vargas (70′).

Next, the Chelsea striker, Kai Havertz, appeared on the scene, who entered the field in the 66th minute of the meeting.

He scored two goals (73′ and 85′) thanks to assists from Niclas Fullkrug and Serge Gnabry to restore Die Mannschaft’s lead.

A goal in extra minutes was also scored by Niclas Fullkrug (90’+1) after an assist from Leroy Sane.

However, despite this victory, Germany remained third in the standings on equal points with Spain (out of four) who were beaten by Group E leaders Japan.

In the round of 16, Japan plays against Croatia, while Spain plays against Morocco.
