Danish player k0nfig will be absent from CS:GO qualifiers

Astralis Talent player Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen will be Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke’s replacement for the qualifiers at CS:GO’s biggest tournament IEM Rio Major.

Team Astralis have announced that Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke has suffered a “complicated ankle fracture” and will be sidelined indefinitely.

The Danish team will battle in the all-important tournament for a spot at the IEM Rio Major with one of their academy players, MistR, who has supposedly been introduced as their official replacement player before the roster deadline for the RMR event.

This will be a huge blow to Team Astralis’ chances in the Major Qualifiers, where from October 4-9, 16 teams will compete in Group A including FaZe, G2, NiP and Cloud9, with only eight advance to IEM Rio.

But this isn’t the first time k0nfig has been out of action after a serious injury, in 2021 when he was part of Team Complexity, he was out for almost two months after breaking his wrist.

The Astralis lineup for the Europe RMR Qualifier will be as follows:

Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander

Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth

Benjamin “blameF” Bremer

Asger “Farlig” Jensen

Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen

Martin “Trace” Heldt (coach)
