Court sets trial date between Elon Musk and Twitter.

The trial date between Elon Musk and Twitter was just set by a judge. The world’s richest man and the social network company will go to court for 5 days between October 17 and 21, 2022.

The trial will be held in Delaware Civil Court. Twitter is trying to force the billionaire to keep his promise to buy the company for the price of 43.3 billion euros.

The company wanted the billionaire’s trial to begin as soon as possible, which would coincide with September of this year, while Musk wanted the trial to begin in February 2023.

Twitter says that Musk’s departure from the deal would be wrongful and void, claiming that he believes that unlike any other party subject to Delaware contract law, he is free to change his mind, make the company worthless, cease operations, destroy shareholder value, and then walk away.

Twitter sued Musk earlier this month, arguing that the tech billionaire is legally bound to complete the acquisition despite claims that the number of “robot” accounts on the platform misrepresented the Tesla chief executive and therefore he has right to withdraw from the purchase agreement.
