Chelsea renews interest in Skriniar

Chelsea renews interest in Skriniar.

Inter may not be so confident of keeping Milan Skriniari after reports his contract extension is due for review amid interest from PSG, while Chelsea could turn to them after seemingly losing Jules Kounden to Barcelona.

The Slovak is on the market this summer for 70-80 million euros, but the French club did not reach this figure.

With his potential replacement Gleison Bremer heading to Juventus from Torino instead, this further dampened any desire Inter had to sell the defender.

His current contract expires in June 2023 and an extension has already been agreed at five million euros a season, but PSG’s interest and the huge salary they had to pay could prompt his agent to ask for an increase salary.

Meanwhile, a domino effect could be in progress with reports this evening in Sport that Barcelona have agreed an additional €50million plus €10million deal with Sevilla for Kounde.

He had been on the verge of a move to Chelsea, so the Stamford Bridge side must now look elsewhere and they may be tempted to consider challenging PSG for Skriniar.
