Carl Froch advises Joshua not to face Wilder.

Former super middleweight boxing champion Carl Froch has warned Anthony Joshua to not fight with Deontay Wilder.

The former boxing star has advised the Briton to avoid a duel with the American in the future, because of his style with strong punches.

AJ lost the world heavyweight title in the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO divisions when he faced Oleksandr Usyk last September at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 32-year-old was supposed to have a rematch with the Ukrainian this spring, but the champion has returned to his hometown to fight against the Russian occupation.

As the conflict continues the likelihood that Joshua will face Usyk in the near future is slim, while speculation is growing about the potential other British opponents, with Joe Joyce as a real option.

Meanwhile, boxing fans are keen to see a showdown between AJ and Wilder (the latter lost the WBC title to Tyson Fury, who also defeated him in the famous trilogy duel).

However, Froch has advised Joshua not to face the former world heavyweight champion despite consecutive losses by Fury.

“I do not care if your name is Anthony Joshua or whatever your name is in the heavyweight category; he can knock you out with one blow.”
