British Airways is facing staff shortages

British Airways is expected to suspend up to 10,000 flights until the end of March next year. According to the announcement, this is being done because the company is facing a shortage of personnel.

“Although the vast majority of our customers will be traveling as planned and we are protecting key half-year holiday destinations, we will have to deal with some further cancellations until the end of October. We are informing customers traveling with us this winter of some adjustments to our schedule, which will include consolidating some of our short-haul flights to destinations with multiple services,” British Airways said in a statement.

More than 600 return flights will be canceled until October 29, while the winter schedule, which will last until the end of March next year, will be reduced by 8 percent.

The announcement of the cancellations came as Heathrow Airport extended its daily limit of 100,000 passengers by another six weeks and asked airlines to sell fewer tickets to customers in order to manage the passenger load at the terminal.
