Bitcoin fell below $20,000 on Saturday, continuing a slide that has taken it nearly 60 percent off its high of the year.

Bitcoin, the world’s largest and most popular cryptocurrency, last fell 1.5 percent to $19,946 on Saturday, down $298 from its previous close.

The cryptocurrency has fallen 58.7 percent from its year-high of $48,234 hit on March 28.

Ether, the currency linked to the ethereum blockchain network, meanwhile fell 2.76 percent to $1,467, losing $41.60 from its previous close.

According to various forecasts, it is not expected that there will be any drastic rise for several months, since the current situation is affecting the market developments.
