Biden in dilemma for re-election

Election

American President Joe Biden has declared that he will make a decision on his eventual candidacy in the 2024 elections after November, or after the mid-term elections.

Biden has stated that at the moment it is still too early to talk about such decisions.

“I will continue to do my duty and after the next electoral cycle I will decide”, said Biden.

The president also spoke about the seizure of documents at Donald Trump’s resort in Florida, underlining that he did not request any information on the matter.

As for the war in Ukraine, he said that what his Russian counterpart Putin did is “shameful”. He emphasized that, despite the fact that Kiev is defeating Russia, it has not yet won the war.

Biden has also been clear about Taiwan, when asked if US troops would intervene if China used force to unify the island.

“Yes, if there was an unprecedented attack,” Biden asserted.

The head of the White House has also said that the United States is not encouraging Taiwan’s independence. According to him, this is something that the people of the island have chosen.

“On the one hand there is the one-China policy and on the other hand there is Taiwan, whose people judge their own independence. We are neither moving nor encouraging them to be independent. This is up to them,” Biden added.
