The media of the family of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi “MFE” has taken over the German television group “ProSiebenSat1”.

MFE – Media For Europe NV, based in the Netherlands, where the European headquarters of Berlusconi’s holding company is located, reported that it had effectively gained control of ProSiebenSat1 Media DE Deutschland.

Just a few weeks ago, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Zeder said that Berlusconi’s company’s takeover of the German group, which is the country’s largest private television group, would be disastrous for Germany and should be prevented by all legal means.

“MFE”, on the other hand, until a few days ago claimed that it is not currently planning to take over “ProSiebenSat 1”.

Until now, Berlusconi held about 30 percent in the German group, which includes dozens of TV stations such as Pro7, Sat1, Kabel1 and a large number of broadcast operators.
