Belarus has summoned the Ukrainian ambassador to discuss claims that a Ukrainian missile landed in Belarus this Thursday.

Minsk claims that the S-300 missile was shot down by Belarus over the western region of Brest at around 7am this morning.

The missile allegedly landed in a field near the village of Harbacha, about nine miles from the border between Belarus and Ukraine.

Anatoly Glaz, from the Belarusian foreign ministry, said that Ukraine has been asked to conduct a full investigation into the incident, as its repetition could lead to catastrophic consequences.

“We have demanded that Ukraine conduct a full investigation into all the circumstances of the missile launch, bring those responsible to justice and take comprehensive measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future. Which can lead to catastrophic consequences for everyone,” said Glaz.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian side has not yet responded to Minsk’s claims.
