At Olaf Scholz‘s summer party, nine women were drugged.

At least nine women who attended a party organized by Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD), which included Chancellor Olaf Scholz, were drugged with a substance known as a “rape drug”.

The spokesman for the party’s parliamentary group confirmed the report and added that nine victims have been confirmed so far.

Berlin police said they were investigating serious injuries after a 21-year-old woman made a complaint.

“We are all horrified by this incredible event and will do everything in our power to bring it to light. I recommend to all those affected to report the cases”, one of the leaders of the SPD, Katja Mast, wrote on Twitter.

In an email sent to the participants of that summer party held on Wednesday, the SPD condemns “the terrible act that was immediately reported to the police”.

It included SPD lawmakers from national and local levels, their staff and guests. The German chancellor was also present.

Otherwise, it was reported that around 1,000 people were present and this was a small number of participants due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
