A Ukrainian plane crashes in Zaporizhzhia.
A Ukrainian plane has crashed while flying in the south of the country, authorities there have announced. One person died and two were injured in the crash.
It is about the AN-26 aircraft, a military transport plane owned by the Ukrainian armed forces, which crashed during a “technical flight” in the early hours of this morning in the Zaporizhzhia region southern Ukraine, local authorities said.
According to preliminary and unconfirmed information, the plane hit an electric pole, which caused the engine to catch fire. The State Emergency Service and concerned agencies are working at the scene.
Fierce fighting continues today between Ukrainian and Russian forces, where the latter started the war on February 24 – thinking that in a few days they will take full control of Ukrainian territory.
