A helicopter full of rescuers explodes in Georgia.

A helicopter carrying doctors and rescuers crashed in Georgia. A loud explosion rang out at the crash site and the helicopter disappeared in black smoke.

The media reports that there were five people in the helicopter. They are members of Georgia’s emergency response team and tried to rescue two people trapped on a cliff after crashing into rocks in Gudaura, a popular ski resort that becomes a favorite destination for airplanes and paragliders in the summer.

There were doctors and rescuers on the plane. Local media reports that they were injured, but at the moment there is no official information about possible victims. Footage of a helicopter hitting a cliff and disappearing in an explosion and a cloud of black smoke and flames went viral on social media.

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that their helicopter, which was helping to rescue the paragliders, lost control and crashed. “The crew members were accompanied by medical workers and rescuers. All the details are still being determined, and more information will be known after the investigation,” the statement said.
