Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that more than 1,300 prisoners have returned to Ukraine since Russian troops began occupying the country.

His statement comes after another exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia.

“After today’s exchange, already 1,319 heroes have returned home,” Zelensky said on Instagram, posting a photo showing several dozen men holding Ukrainian flags.

“We will not stop until we get all our people back,” he said.

Zelenskyi’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, said 50 Ukrainians had returned home during the latest exchange.

In July, dozens of Ukrainian soldiers died after the bombing of the Olenivka prison in the eastern Donetsk region. Russia and Ukraine have blamed each other for the attacks.
