Ukraine has received a set of Starlink antennas that were purchased with the help of Poland, declared Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Today we received one of the largest Starlink shipments during the full-scale invasion. This is just the first group. In the coming weeks we will receive even more Starlinks”, he stated in a post on Twitter.
“I want to thank our Polish colleagues, who helped in the purchase of these Starlinks. Thanks to the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki. Thanks to my digital colleague Janusz Cieszynski. And I also want to thank the National Institute of Telecommunications of Poland and the Orlen Company. Thank you all. This is one of the biggest shipments in 10 months,” he said.
Starlink is a satellite internet service within the company SpaceX which is owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
“These Starlinks will support unbreakable points to ensure continuous communication for all citizens of Ukraine during power outages,” the Ukrainian official further stated.
“And secondly, we will help the energy infrastructure, the medical infrastructure, the civil sector. I am grateful that we have the opportunity to use satellite communications now during a large-scale war.”
