Two people have been arrested as suspects in the murder of soccer player Cody Fisher in Great Britain.

Police said a 22-year-old man with an address in Birmingham city center was arrested after midnight, while a second man, aged 21, was arrested in London.

West Midlands Police said the students have been escorted and will be questioned.

Fisher, 23, was stabbed on the dance floor of a nightclub in the Digbeth area of Birmingham just before 11.45pm on December 26.

Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead about half an hour later.

Police said Fisher had been partying with friends at the nightclub when he was stabbed.

Fisher’s family said in a statement after his death: “We have lost a best friend. We ask for privacy and respect at this heartbreaking time.”
