The EU will help the Ukrainian army with two billion euros

European Union countries will add another two billion euros to a fund that has been used to pay for military support for Ukraine.

The bloc’s foreign ministers will decide to top up the European Peace Facility (EPF) at a meeting in Brussels on Monday, diplomats added.

EU states have used the fund to buy weapons and military equipment for Kiev, but it has been largely depleted by nearly nine months of war in Ukraine.

In November, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell called on member states to fill the pot by the end of the year.

He said that the EU and its member states have so far provided Ukraine with weapons and military equipment worth 5.7 billion euros.

Otherwise, Russia has launched an unjustifiable invasion of the state of Ukraine on February 24, causing casualties and material damage.
