Vladimir Putin has said that Russia will fight to protect its interests using all available means.

Speaking at a televised session of his Human Rights Council, the Russian president also complained that the West treated Russia as a second-class citizen with no right to exist.

He also sought to quell rumors of a second mobilization next year, saying there was no need to carry out an additional call.

The Russian president said that of the 300,000 reservists gathered, about 150,000 were deployed in the area of what Moscow calls its “special military operation” in Ukraine.

About 77,000 were in combat units and the rest performed defensive functions, he said.

Otherwise, Russia has launched an unjustifiable invasion of the Ukrainian state on February 24, causing numerous casualties and material damage.
