A few days after Apple did, Google also recognized the best mobile apps that can be downloaded on their platform. The Best of 2022 Google Play Store Awards go to app authors who stood out this year with bold ideas and creativity.
This year, for the first time, Google included in the selection applications made for Chromebooks, and as before, the authors of applications for all other types of devices – from phones to smartwatches – were also awarded.
Works purchased for 2022 reflect market trends and what is currently most important to users. Thus, among them you can find games that allow you to separate from the real world and immerse yourself in a new world, as well as applications that help you live “in the moment”.
The best games and apps
The Dream by WOMBO app was named the best overall mobile app available this year on Google Play. It serves as a diversion with a very popular and viral activity in recent months – creating drawings and illustrations from text, with the help of artificial intelligence.
Apex Legends Mobile, by EA, was named the best game and this is a game that was regularly among the 10 most popular games on the Google Store in 2022. The same game, let’s recall, was recently named the most good on iOS.
When it comes to the users’ own choice, the unusual social network BeReal stood out as the best app, which was also praised by Apple this year as outstanding, authentic and creative. The top game according to users’ choice is, as expected – Apex Legends Mobile.
Other categories
Google also recognized the best apps in smaller categories. So PetStar, an app that lets you animate a photo of your pet, was named the most entertaining app. For personal development, the best breathing trainer is Breathwrk, and Plant Parent – a guide to growing plants stands out from the useful everyday apps.
Digital planner Todoist was named best app for wearables, content curator Pocket for tablets, and in a new category, the title of best Chromebook app was awarded to digital music studio BandLab.
