Ukraine has begun raising funds for a fleet of naval drones

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that fundraising for maritime drones is starting as part of the United24 fundraising platform.

He said this in his daily video address.

“Next week, we’re launching another fundraising drive – fundraising for a fleet of naval drones. I think that absolutely everyone understands what it is and what it is for, and I am sure that millions of people will support such a direction in our defense,” said the Ukrainian president.

“Everyone has already seen how it works and this is only for the protection of our marine water area, we do not claim to belong to anyone else.”

He did not specify what exactly it was about, but on October 29, a group of naval drones attacked Russian Black Sea Fleet ships in Sevastopol.

The Kremlin blamed Ukraine and Britain for the attack. Neither Kiev nor London claimed responsibility for the attack.
