The Russian Defense Ministry says it has completed the withdrawal of troops from the western bank of the Dnipro River in Ukraine‘s Kherson region.
In a daily briefing reported, the ministry said all Russian forces and equipment had been moved to the east coast.
The withdrawal was said to have been completed in the early hours of Friday.
The ministry said there are not a single soldier or a single piece of military equipment left on the western side of the river, which includes the city of Kherson.
The ministry also claimed that it had suffered no loss of personnel or equipment during the withdrawal.
A photo appeared on social media showing the Ukrainian flag hanging in the center of Kherson, possibly planted by local partisans.
