Iran is considering supplying Russia with ballistic missiles for the war in Ukraine, in addition to the drones Tehran has already delivered, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
During a press conference in Istanbul, the NATO chief said: “We see Iran offering drones and considering sending ballistic missiles to Russia.”
“This is unacceptable. No country should offer support to Moscow in this illegal war.”
Yesterday, the UN’s top lawyer rejected a Russian argument that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres could not report to the Security Council on Western allegations that Moscow used Iranian-made drones in Ukraine in violation of a 2015 resolution.
Russia has argued that there is no mandate for Guterres to send UN experts to Ukraine to inspect the downed drones.
Tehran denies supplying Moscow with drones and Russia has denied its forces have used Iranian drones to attack Ukraine.
