Maserati‘s transition to electric vehicles has begun as the Granturismo and Grecale received two variants – gas and electric.
However, the upcoming Quattroporte and Levante models will take the next step and be pure EV cars.
The Quattroporte is scheduled to be released in 2024 with a complete redesign and only with EV engines. Levante is expected a year later.
Both cars will be based on the new modular platform used for the current Granturismo. A T-shaped battery pack has been designed, which fills the tunnel between the chassis and the rear row seats. The Quattroporte is said to deliver less than 760 peak horsepower.
The Quattroporte and Levante are most likely to be produced at the Mirafiori plant in Italy since last year, Stellantis invested 700 million euros to prepare for EV production.
This is where Maserati’s Granturismo is being built right now.
